Beach Day

The weather is perfect here today so we headed out to the beach first thing this morning. We decided to go back to Wells Harbor Beach because it's so well-suited to little kids. There was only one other family and 2 retired couples there when we arrived around 10am, so we got a prime spot!






The kids were so busy playing in the sand that Derek & I actually got to relax (a little)!





We had fun making sand castles too!



I walked along a trail to see what was around the bend. It's all protected land from here.


An adorable set of identical 4-year-old twin girls settled in next to our spot.


The twins' parents had a kite which S&Z loved to watch! Their vacation-inspired new words last week were 'beer' and 'pool'. This week introduced 'beach' and 'kite'!


We had another picnic and then it was time to head back to the hotel for an afternoon nap.


Just another awesome day on vacation!!!

Auntie Tracy's Visit

Tracy is one of my best friends, but I haven't seen her in person in two years ! This means that I hadn't met her daughter, Brynn, who turns 2 in June. I was sooooooooo excited when I found out that Tracy and Brynn would be visiting Tracy's sister, Timery this weekend. We decided to meet at Mall Tots  again so that the kids could run around and we could catch up. It's a 45 minute drive and it was a beautiful day, so the kids were hunkered down with sunglasses, snack and stuffed animals on the ride up. Zoe and Brynn initially got acquainted in the bouncy house, And then Zoe pushed her around in a car.   Of course my kids (and husband!) had plenty of distraction with the video games too. We packed up the kids and then had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings before heading back home. Timery and Tracy are like sisters to me. What a fantastic day!!!

The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well!
